Spiken is another newbuilding from the Swedish shipping company Thunbolagen. Spiken is the same type of vessel as Lidan which was delivered in October this year and is also registered in FAS. They are plug-in hybrid vessels.
Its hybrid system includes a battery pack that minimises the use of auxiliary engines and enables zero-emission, noise-free operations when docked, which is beneficial for port communities and ecosystems.
The hybrid design also ensures stable distribution of electrical power, improving operational efficiency.
