The Paris MoU has announced that, over the next three months, Port State Control Authorities will focus on the Securing of Cargo Units and Cargo Transport Units.
Inspection period: 1 September – 30 November 2026
The purpose of the inspection campaign is to collect data on the extent to which current SOLAS requirements are complied with in relation to the loading, stowage and securing of cargo and cargo transport units.
The inspections will be carried out as part of routine Port State Control inspections. Ships will only be inspected once during the campaign period.
Inspection questionnaire
Port State Control Authorities will use this inspection questionnaire to check compliance with the requirements.
Any deficiencies identified will be documented, and actions by the Port State may range from recording a deficiency to detaining the ship.
